"The coast's enduring allure lies in its ability to evoke profound emotions through shifting light and weather. My artistic purpose is to capture and convey the wonder I witness in these moments."

About

My work explores the meeting point between memory, motion and landscape. Inspired by the sea’s changing moods, I use oil paint to capture moments of atmosphere—where weather, light and emotion collide. Bold mark-making and contrasting colour allow me to balance abstraction with realism, inviting the viewer into a space that feels both familiar and evocative. Raised in a creative home and trained in design, my artistic voice blends precision with freedom.

Jack Wileman is a contemporary seascape painter based in Selsey, UK. Known for his expressive oil paintings that blend realism and abstraction, Jack captures the energy and emotion of the British coastline. His background in animation and design informs his bold compositions and vibrant colour palettes. The son of renowned oil painter Peter Wileman, Jack’s artistic journey began early—walking the shoreline with his father, seeking light and atmosphere.
